Jennerstown Speedway Complex Announces Rain Date For “Practice Day”

(Jennerstown, PA) With weather conditions changing drastically from day to day, so far in early April, officials at the Jennerstown Speedway Complex are taking a proactive approach to help insure that race teams can test their equipment before Opening Day 2017. “Practice Day 2017,” which has been scheduled for Saturday, May 6, 2017, now has a rain date of Sunday, May 7, in case inclement weather should dampen weekend plans.
“We have several rookies registered to compete this year, and many teams set to debut new cars. Testing time can be critical to these teams, and we want to make every effort to provide track availability before drivers start to earn valuable points toward the Jennerstown divisional Championships,” said official Billy Hribar.
If needed, the Sunday rain date would utilize a later start time than the traditional Saturday “Practice Day” times. The complete time schedule will be released soon, announcing a detailed agenda for Saturday, May 6, 2017. All times will be pushed back three hours later, if the agenda is bumped to Sunday, May 7. Spectator admission is free, for those fans eager to hear the rumble of racing engines after the long, cold, off-season.
The following week, Jennerstown Speedway Complex will officially launch the 2017 season with Opening Day, on Saturday, May 13. Five divisions of Stock Cars will be in competition, with gates opening at 4:00pm and racing beginning at 6:00pm. The complete schedule of events for 2017 can be found at www.jennerstown.org
