First Time Winners Are Prevalent at Jennerstown Speedway in 2017 Published: May 31, 2017

First Time Winners Are Prevalent at Jennerstown Speedway in 2017May 31, 2017) This Saturday, June 3, will mark the third round of Five Division Racing at the Jennerstown Speedway Complex for 2017. With two events in the record books this season, a total of ten feature races have been contested so far, with first-time winners claiming four of the events.

“Everyone loves to witness a driver’s first Victory Lane celebration, and 40% of the races this season have produced exactly that excitement for Jennerstown Speedway fans,” promoter Mike Lysakowski pointed out. “If this trend continues, our veteran competitors will need to re-think their preparation and their approach to racing every Saturday in order to remain successful.”

On Opening night, young Aaron Van Fleet earned his first win in the J&J Truck Equipment Street Stock division. He had won many events in the Somerset Trust Fast ‘n Furious 4-Cylinder division, before leaping up the divisional ladder to the more powerful racing machines. Last Saturday night, Bryan Shipp won his first Martella’s Pharmacies Late Model division race. Like Van Fleet, Shipp was very successful at another level of competition – the Stoystown Auto Wreckers Modifieds. Many believe that his first win in the top division, is just the start of a great Late Model racing career. Shipp was a rookie to the division in 2016. On the same night, two drivers found Victory Lane for the very first time in any form of motorsports. Jason Pritts, in the Farmer’s Union Co-Op Charger division, and Evan Nibert, in the Somerset Trust Co. Fast ‘n Furious 4-Cylinder division, both gushed with emotion in front of thousands of fans last week. Holding trophies for the first time, both drivers were surrounded by family and crew members for the memorable moments.

Saturday, June 3, gates open at 4:00pm with live music, clowns, and face painting on the Jennerstown Midway. Also at 4:00pm, Racer’s Pub opens for business, offering fans over age 21 a variety of beer and malt beverages. Chick-Fil-A sandwiches, Little Caesar’s Pizza, Auntie Ann’s Pretzels, and Dairy Queen treats call all be enjoyed as on-track practice sessions begin at 4:30pm. Five Division Racing begins at 6:00pm, with preliminary heat races, and feature races for the Martella’s Pharmacies Late Models, Stoystown Auto Wreckers Modifieds, J&J Truck Equipment Street Stocks, Famers Union Co-Op Chargers, and the Somerset Trust Company Fast ‘n Furious 4-Cylinders.
