As the 2018 season is officially over, I would just like to take a minute to reflect on the season as a whole. We just had a wonderful night on Friday at the 2018 Jennerstown Banquet. Wow everyone Jennerstown Speedway this past Saturday night was great!!! We took Medusa up to see if we couldnt finally finish a race after our few first attempts. She was great in practice, just a little tight in the center off. This super cup cars are naturally tight cars being they run truck arms instead of trailing arms. On opening day 2017, young Aaron Van Fleet earned his first win in the J&J Truck Equipment RUSH Street Stock division. As the green flag waved for the second 20-lap feature race of 2018, Van Fleet took the lead after starting on the pole. He maintained the top spot until lap five, when veteran Mel Wilt made a pass for the lead. Finally mother nature cooperated just enough to get the heat races and the street stock race in on Saturday night at Jennerstown Speedway. Lauren and the EdlinMotorsports Team battled a tight loose car most of the night. Lauren managed to salvage a 3rd place in the heat race. In the feature Lauren started on the pole and about 6 laps in had to bring the car into the pits due to a broken throttle. Made the second trip to Jennerstown Speedway on Saturday May 5, 2018 to get some more data on the car. Made some changes to the car during the week prior to see if there was some more speed to be gained. Low and behold according to the Transponder information Lauren gained about 2 tenths of a second. Edlin Motorsports made the trip up to Jennerstown Speedway on April 21,2018 to shake down the #53 Street Stock. After passing tech Lauren took a little time out to take some photos in the pits, then on to some track time. She wound up having a couple of issues with Nakita which included brake fade and left front tire rub entering the corners. It's been a long winter here at Edlin Motorsports and work has been progressing on both the #53 Supercup and Street Stock racecars. As you have heard, Lauren was involved in a hard crash on 8/26/2017 on the first lap of the race with hard contact to the turn 4 wall that destroyed the front end of her car. Today held the final race in the DML Regular Season at Jennerstown Speedway in Pensylvannia. Our very own TJ Smith had nearly clinched the regular season championship, all he needed to do was come across the start-finish line on the lead lap.
